Inter District Women’s T20: Patiala eves thrash Ludhiana, enter final

The semi-final, played between Patiala and Ludhiana turned out to be a one-sided affair as the former romped home by seven wickets and qualified for the final in the Punjab State Inter District Women Senior T20 Cricket Tournament. The match was played today at Dhruv Pandove Stadium, Patiala.
Patiala won the toss and decided to bowl first. They restricted Ludhiana’s innings to a small total of 70 runs. Aishmine Kaur was the main scorer who made 30 runs while Avneet Kaur Sandhu contributed 11 runs.
For Patiala, Shruti Tiwari was the most successful bowler. She took four wickets for 19 while Shruti Yadav captured two wickets for 15 and Parul Sharma got one for 14 runs.
Patiala met the target in 18.2 overs after losing three wickets and wrapped up the issue comfortably. Anjali remained unbeaten on 22 while Himanshi Saini scored 21 runs and Vanshika Mahajan made 14 to help their side surpass Ludhiana’s total. — OC
