To ensure that sewage was being discharged properly, Ludhiana East MLA Daljit Singh Bhola Grewal, Mayor Inderjit Kaur and Municipal Corporation (MC) Commissioner Aaditya Dachalwal conducted an inspection at the Jamalpur sewage treatment plant (STP) and main dump site on Tajpur Road, among other areas on Thursday.
The inspection was conducted at the main dump site as a main sewer line moves through the area and recently the flow was hit due to dumping of garbage in the sewer. But the waste has now been cleared and proper discharge sewage has been ensured.
MC Additional Commissioner Paramdeep Singh, Chief Engineer Ravinder Garg and SE Ekjot Singh, among other officials, were present during the inspection.
MLA Grewal and Mayor Inderjit and Commissioner Dachalwal also conducted an inspection at the intermediate pumping station (IPS) on the Gaushala site and issued necessary directions for the proper working of the IPS and Jamalpur STP.
MLA Grewal and the Mayor stated that they had received a few complaints regarding improper flow of sewage and clogged sewers from a few areas, following which the inspection was conducted on Thursday. Directions have been issued to ensure proper working of all STPs in the city, so that residents do not face any trouble.
