The police have initiated a probe into an incident in which an employee of the Ladhowal toll plaza was allegedly assaulted by a kabaddi player. The suspect, yet to be identified, had manhandled him deployed at the VIP lane as he had refused to allow his car to cross the barrier.

Toll Plaza manager Vipan Kumar said, “When our employee asked him to either show an exemption letter or divert his car to routine lanes, he felt insulted and allegedly started beating him,” he said.

SHO Gurshinder Kaur said the police had initiated an investigation into the matter.
