Kasabad GSSS boys emerge champions

Government Senior Secondary School (GSSS), Kasabad, emerged champions in the boys’ section in the 11th Sub-Junior District Ludhiana Baseball Tournament being held at Government Girls Senior Secondary Smart School, Gill village, near here.
The final played between GSSS and Guru Nanak Schook, Dholewal, turned out to be a mismatch as the former came out triumphant 11-1 to lift the winners’ trophy. Nitin and Sunil played a pivotal role in the Kasabad team’s authentic win.
In the match to decide the third place, BCM Senior Secondary School, Focal Point, fought it tooth and nail to edge out DAV Public School, BRS Nagar, 4-3. Amit scored two runs for the winning side.
In the girls’ section, hosts Government Girls Secondary Smart School, Gill village, set up the title clash with Guru Nanak International Public School (GNIPS), Model Town.
In the semi-finals, GSSS, Gill, had routed Ramgarhia Baseball Club 10-0 while GNIPS had registered an overwhelming 11-1 win against Gill Baseball Club to storm into the final.
