Katoch Shield Tourney: Ludhiana, Bathinda share a point
Ludhiana, August 17
The two-day match between Ludhiana and Bathinda in the ongoing Punjab State Inter-District Cricket Tournament for the Katoch Shield, being organised by the Punjab Cricket Association, remained unresolved. The match was played at Bathinda on Friday and Saturday.
Yesterday, batting first, Bathinda were off to a sound start, losing their first wicket at 75 when Gurmehar Singh Sra was plumbed leg before wicket at his individual score of 42. India U-19 captain in the World Cup this year, Uday Pratap Saharan and Yuvi Goyal took the score to 147 runs when it started raining, forcing the players indoors. Yuvi and Uday were at the crease with 64 and 31 runs against their names.
Today, not a single ball was bowled as the outfield was not fit for play and the match was called off. Both the teams shared one point each.
In the second match, scheduled for August 19 and 20 at Faridkot, Ludhiana will take on Faridkot. — OC
