A Khanna-based youth, who went abroad on a study basis, died while taking a bath in a sea in Moscow, Russia.
The deceased has been identified as Sai Dhruv Kapoor (20). He was a resident of Suncity on Amloh Road in Khanna.
Dhruv’s father, Karan Kapoor, works as a financial adviser. The family was not financially strong but for the sake of their son’s dreams, they sent him to Russia for studies. He returned after six months due to visa conditions. Last year, he was again sent to Moscow on a study visa.
As per information, on Sunday, Dhruv called home and informed his family that he was going to the seashore with his friends. Initially, his father thought of stopping him but then he realised that his son got a day off after a whole week, hence, he could not stop. However, he had no idea that it would prove to be their last conversation.
His family said a few hours later, they received a call from his friends who informed them that Dhruv had been swept away by sea waves with his friends. His friends were rescued but by the time he was pulled out, he had already died. A video of Dhruv being taken from the sea to the hospital reached the family.
Sister was preparing to send rakhi to him
Dhruv’s sister was inconsolable. She was preparing to send Rakhi to her brother but now, even before the festival, they are struggling to bring back his body. The family want to perform their son’s last rituals in their homeland. The family has also sent an email to External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar, appealing for help in bringing Dhruv’s body back home in minimum possible time. An application was also been submitted on an assistance
portal of the External Affairs Ministry. The family even requested Fatehgarh Sahib MP Amar Singh for immediate help.
