Khushi Tyagi won two gold medals in track events at the ongoing block-level games under the third edition of ‘Khedan Watan Punjab Diyan’, being organised by the Punjab Sports Department under the aegis of Sports and Youth Services, Punjab, with the help of the district administration at different venues across the district.

Here, at Guru Nanak Stadium (municipal corporation block), Khushi hogged the limelight as she emerged the winner in the 60 m and 600 m races in the girls U-14 category. In the 60 m race, Anahat Sidhu and Anushka Sharma secured the second and third positions, respectively, while in the 600 m race, Vivetia nad Vanya Sharma finished the first and second runners-up, respectively.

In the long jump event, Anushka Sharma outdid her opponents and won the top honours, while Amaanat Virk finished in second place and Kinjal Sharma secured the third position.

In the boys U-14 category (athletics), Saksham emerged triumphant in the 600 m race, he was followed by Balteghvir Singh and Gaurav Puri at the second and third places, respectively. In the long jump, Lovish Dhadhwal emerged victorious, while Ansh Rana and Yasmeet Sharma finished in the second and third spots, respectively. In the shot put event, Luvkush clinched the top honour, followed by Ujjwal Singh and Suryansh at the second and third positions, respectively.

In football (boys U-21), Immortal Club emerged victorious, in kabaddi (national style), International Public School, Ludhiana, won and in the circle style, Amrit Indo Canadian Academy emerged the winner.

At GSSS, Sihar village (Malout block), in the boys U-14 category, Varmeet Singh (60 m race), Jashanpreet Singh (100 m race), Attardeep Singh (200 m race), Jashanpreet Singh (400 m race), Sukhminder Singh (600 m race), Abhijot Singh (1,500 m race), Gurjot Singh (long jump), and Umkaran Singh (shot put) secured the top positions.

In Jagraon block at Bhambhipura village, in football (boys U-21), She-e-Punjab Sports Academy, Chakkar village, Bhambhipura village team, and Kothe Ralah village secured the top three positions, and in the shot put event, Gurtaj Singh, Romanpreet Singh, and Armaan Singh bagged the top three spots, respectively.

MLA Sarvjit Kaur Manuke visited the games venue and distributed the prizes.

At Guru Gobind Singh Stadium, Machhiwara, in the girls U-14 category, Harshdeep Kaur won the top position in the 600 m race, Jaismeen Kaur emerged as the winner in the shot put event and Sukhman Kaur secured the first position in the long jump event.

At Latala (Pakhowal block), GSSS, Pakhowal, won the top spot in football (girls U-14), and Gujjarwal Football Academy finished in second place, while the Ranguwal village team secured the third position. In the shot put event, Chahatpreet Kaur and Prabhjot Kaur, both of Anand Ishar School, Chhappar village, secured the first and second positions, respectively.

The block-level competitions in the third and last phase will be held in five blocks—Ludhiana II, Dehlon, Raikot, Doraha, and Samrala—from September 10 to 12.
