Sacred Heart Senior Secondary School, BRS Nagar, in basketball and Guru Nanak Model School, Dholewal in softball, romped home in the boys’ U-14 category in the ongoing district-level games of the third edition of Khedan Watan Punjab Diyan, being organised by the Punjab Sports Department under the aegis of Sports and Youth Services, Punjab, with the help of district administration at different venues across the district on Saturday.

In basketball, DAV Public School, BRS Nagar and Guru Nanak Club secured the second and third position, respectively, while in softball, DGSC School, Shimla Puri, finished as the first runners-up and BVM Senior Secondary School, Focal Point branch, finished as second runners-up.

In softball (boys’ U-17), BCM Senior Secondary School, Focal Point branch, emerged winners, followed by RS Model School at the second spot and Guru Nanak Model School, Dholewal, at the third place.

In the boys’ U-17 section (basketball), the first three positions were bagged by Khalsa Club, Guru Nanak Club and Government Multipurpose School, respectively, while in the U-21 category, Guru Nanak Club came out triumphant to fetch the top position. Everest Club and Government Multipurpose School secured the second and third position, respectively.

Guru Nanak Club secured the first position in 21-30 group while GSSSS, PAU, got the second position and Police Lines Club finished third.

In the weightlifting competition for U-14 boys, Shaurya Sehgal won the top spot in the plus 67kg weight section, Jasnoor Kainth emerged on top in below 49kg weight category, Gurnoor Singh proved too good to clinch the top position in below 55 kg section, Amitoj Singh secured the first spot in below 61 kg group and Arif won first place in below 67 kg weight category.
