Little Santas, reunions add to Xmas warmth in Patiala
Seeing Little Santa Clauses roam all over the city was a feast to the eyes on Christmas. Be it congested streets or wide roads in leading markets, little Santas were seen warmly welcoming everyone with a smile. The residents looked absolutely prepared to celebrate the occasion.
Many restaurants in the city arranged for Christmas parties, paid parties for which advance bookings were done by the residents. A newly opened banquet hall-cum-restaurant on South City road had organised a Christmas party by inviting live band and offering sumptuous cuisine. President of the Christian United Federation, Albert Dua said that many of their guests were invited to a leading hotel with families to enjoy the evening. “For us, this is the most awaited time of the year. Even our relatives have arrived from overseas to be with us on this occasion,” said Dua.
Sister Reshmi, who served as the principal of a leading school here, told the Tribune that the day holds great importance for the entire community and one prays and seeks blessings of the Lord for the entire mankind.
adhav, a college-going student, said that he had got an invitation from a Christian friend from the CMC and a group of 5-6 friends will go and celebrate the occasion in the company of his friend’s loving family. “Her mother has specially baked a plum cake for us in addition to regular dinner. They have also arranged for carol singing and after that, we plan to play games. It is so good to enjoy the varied cultures with warmth,” said Madhav.
The markets, malls and restaurants were tastefully decorated with Christmas trees, Santa Claus, reindeer, bells and snowy homes presenting a perfect festive look.
