Ludhiana District Badminton Tounrey: Amelia Bhakoo, Ananya Nijawan set up U-15 title clash

Amelia Bhakoo and Ananya Nijawan logged comfortable victories in their respective semi-finals to set up the title clash in the girls’ singles U-15 category in the ongoing Ludhiana District Badminton Tournament being organised by the District Badminton Association, Ludhiana, at Shastri Hall near Guru Nanak Stadium here on Sunday.
Amelia outperformed Khushi Tiwari in straight sets 21-11, 21-5 and Ananya overpowered Aadhira Gupta 21-11, 21-8 to secure berths in the summit clash.
Amelia also made it to the final in the girls’ doubles U-15 section as she, in association with Upneet Kaur trounced Saanvi Aggarwal and Gurmanpreet Kaur 21-5, 21-3 and stormed into the final where they would clash with Tania Dhiman and Samira Aggarwal who edged out Anishka Tholatu and Rakshita 21-10, 21-12.
