Ludhiana-I, PAU, and Sahnewal zones romped home victorious in kho-kho in the girls U-14, 17 and 19 categories, respectively, in the ongoing 69th Ludhiana District Schools Games, being organised by the Punjab Education Department at several venues across the district on Wednesday.
At School of Eminence, Jawahar Nagar, in the girls U-14 section, Rara Sahib and Samrala zones secured the second and third positions, while in the U-17 group, the second and third positions were bagged by Raikot and Samrala zones, respectively. In the U-19 category, Khanna and Raikot zones finished second and third, respectively.
At the PAU swimming pool, in the boys U-17 section, Rudra Chaudhary of Royal International School emerged winner in the 200-m back stroke event and was followed by Prasul Sachdeva of Sat Paul Mittal School and Fatehvir Singh of Jesus Sacred Heart School at the second and third spots, respectively.
In 400-m freestyle, Ojas Dikshit of Bal Baharti Public School, Aryan Mishra of Bal Bharti Public School and Prabhjot Chaudhary of DPS, Khanna, secured the first three positions; and in 100-m breast stroke, Aditya Trehan of BCM Arya Model School came out victorious, while Samarth of BVM, Kitchlu Nagar, got the second position and Ekroop Singh of Jesus Sacred Heart School finished at the third place. In wrestling, at Bhai Nagahia Akhara, Alamgir, in the boys U-19 category, in the below 52kg weight category, Dilpreet Singh of Dakha zone and Keshav Sharma of the PAU zone bagged the first two positions, while Gurnoor Sharma and Tarundeep Singh, both of Samrala zone, shared the third position. In the below 57kg weight group, Biniya of Dakha zone, Simarjot Singh of Samrala zone and Shivam Gupta of Ludhiana-I zone won the top three positions. In roller skating, at AIPL Rink, Canal road, in the girls U-14 section (inline event), Bhavi and Ajminia, both from Bal Bharti Public School, got the first two positions and Grisha of Sacred Heart School finished at the third place, while in the boys U-14 group, Aditavir Singh, Yaskirat Singh and Ayan secured the first three positions.
