Ludhiana MC demolishes illegal colonies, labour quarters
Ludhiana, July 19
Cracking a whip against illegal constructions, the Municipal Corporation (MC) demolished two illegal colonies and two labour quarter buildings in areas falling under Zone B of the MC here on Friday.
The two illegal colonies were being established near the main dump site of the MC on Tajpur road, while the two illegal labour quarter buildings were being established in Mundian area. Further, the civic body teams also sealed an illegal labour quarter building in Sherpur area, while an encroachment was also removed in Ramandeep colony.
Assistant Town Planner (ATP-Zone B) Harvinder Singh Honey said the drive against illegal constructions was conducted on the directions of the MC Commissioner Sandeep Rishi.
He said they came to know about the illegal constructions during routine inspections and action was taken against them on Friday. Working on the directions of MC Commissioner Sandeep Rishi, the drive against illegal constructions, including the illegal colonies and labour quarters, will continue in the coming days too.
