Ludhiana Range DIG, Khanna SSP assume charge
After the major reshuffle in the Punjab Police, Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG), Ludhiana Range, Jagdale Nilambari Vijay; Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Khanna, Jyoti Yadav; and SSP, Ludhiana rural, Ankur Gupta, joined their new place of postings at their respective stations.
Khanna SSP Dr Jyoti Yadav while interacting with the media said as per the directions of Punjab DGP Gaurav Yadav, being the police chief of Khanna, she would ensure zero tolerance against corruption.
“No one would be allowed to indulge in corruption, people would be delivered justice on merit and as per law only,” Yadav said.
The SSP said the Khanna police would play an important role in making Khanna and the state drug-free. A special campaign against drugs would be continued and miscreants indulging in drug smuggling would be put behind bars.
Regarding women safety, she categorically said women safety would be the priority of the Khanna police. The police would ensure such a congenial environment at police stations so that any woman could come and lodge a complaint without facing any awkward situation.
The SSP asserted that the functioning of the Khanna police would be fair and transparent in all respects.
Dr Ankur Gupta, who also took charge as the SSP, Ludhiana rural, vowed that his priorities would be to take strict action against drug smugglers, criminals, anti-social elements and ensure justice for every citizen. After joining, Gupta also held a meeting with senior police officials and gave directions to maintain law and order.
Meanwhile, Jagdale Nilambari Vijay had also taken over the charge of DIG, Ludhiana Range, on Saturday. The official is likely to hold a meeting with all SSPs of the Ludhiana Range in coming days.
