Ludhiana, August 17
The Ludhiana police have registered four cases against city-based West Way Immigration firm situated in Feroze Gandhi Market here for duping residents of Rs 49.50 lakh.
The suspects were identified as Manish Kumar and Dhanwant Singh. The cases were registered on the charges of fraud, forgery and criminal conspiracy against the firm.
The first case was registered on the complaint of Ravi Kumar of Karabara, who alleged that the suspects had promised to send his family abroad and in lieu, they had taken Rs 21 lakh from him. Another complainant, Pawandeep Kaur, of Dashmesh Nagar said the agents had taken Rs 10 lakh from her to send herself and her husband abroad.
The third case was registered on the complaint of Kiranpreet Kaur of Dasuya, Hoshiarpur. She said the duo had taken Rs 8.50 lakh to send herself and her spouse to America but after taking the money, the suspects failed to arrange a visa. The fourth case was registered on the complaint of Sukhbir Kaur of Sangrur. She alleged that the suspects had taken Rs 10 lakh from her to arrange a visa for the UK but failed to send her to that country. — TNS
