Making objectionable remarks against former chief minister of Punjab and his family in a WhatsApp group cost a man dear as the Khanna police registered a case against the suspect.

On the complaint of a Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) worker, a case was registered under the IT Act against Manpreet Singh, alias Mani Gill, a resident of Dudal, near Payal, by the cyber crime unit in Khanna.

In the complaint lodged with the police, Kuldeep Singh said he was a SAD worker. In a WhatsApp group, related to SAD, ‘Sukhi Base Mera Nagar Kheda’, objectionable comments were made by Manpreet Singh against former CM Parkash Singh Badal and his family. The complainant also gave screenshots of the comments to the police.
