Man booked on molestation charge

On the complaint filed by a woman, Sukhi, the Dugri police have registered a case against Jasmerpal, alias Jassa, under Sections 75 and 351 (2) of the BNS for allegedly molesting the victim.

The complainant said when she was passing near the flat of Jassa, he came from behind and started molesting her and when she resisted his move, the suspect threatened her of dire consequences.

She said Jassa, who was under the influence of liquor, was the father of gangster Sagar Newton. who was lodged in a jail. Several cases were registered against the gangster in the past.

The complainant alleged that Jassa believes that she gave information about Newton to the police due to which the former wanted to take revenge from her.

3 held for snatching, theft

In another incident, the Jagatpuri police have arrested Kamaljit Kumar, Vicky Paswan and Ajay Kumar for snatching and stealing mobiles. The police have recovered 14 mobiles from them. The police said they were involved in many theft cases. The trio has been sent to police remand for three days.
