In her complaint to the police, Sandeep Kaur alleged that a few months ago, her son began preparations to go abroad and they were searching for some good travel agents. Later, they met the three travel agents. They promised that they could easily secure a work permit for Australia for Akshdeep and send him abroad. Under the guise of sending him to Australia, the suspects took Rs 34 lakh from them. For several months, neither did the work permit arrive nor did the trio return the money. Whenever she asked them to return the money, they would make excuses.

On March 7, 2025, she filed a complaint with senior police officials of Ludhiana. After probing the matter for over three months, the police on Monday registered a case. ASI Balbir Singh said the suspects would be nabbed soon.
