Panic spread in Balaji Colony, Ram Nagar, when a man’s body was found lying in the middle of the road on Wednesday morning. Residents informed the local police station after noticing the body.

An eyewitness, Ramesh, said he saw a man lying on the road early this morning. When he got closer, he saw blood flowing from the head of the victim. Following which, he informed the police.

The deceased was identified as Sanjay Verma (43), a resident of Balaji Colony. He was married and the father of two children, a son and daughter. The man was working at a factory.

The deceased’s father said according to family members, they received a call around 6:30 am, informing them that Sanjay’s body was found on a road. “We live in a different place. We don’t know what happened to him,” he said.

SHO inspector Balwinder Kaur said a case of murder was registered based on the family’s statement against an unidentified person.
