Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), Dakha, Varinder Singh Khosa, said when officials of the Sudhar police station were conducting a routine patrolling to keep a tab on drug smugglers, they noticed a man and signalled him to stop for checking. However, the person, instead of coming to the police team, quickly entered his house. Suspecting something suspicious, they entered the house of the suspect and during the search, 100 pills of banned drugs were recovered. A case under the NDPS Act was registered against the man and further questioning was on so that entire drug supply line could be busted and big suppliers of banned drugs be arrested.

Meanwhile, the DSP issued a warning to smugglers to shun smuggling or face strict police action. DSP also urged the people to inform the police about drug peddlers and after verifying information, the police would take immediate action. Names of informers would be kept secret.
