Man nabbed with heroin, illegal pistol, motorcycle
The crime branch wing of the Ludhiana police arrested a smuggler and seized 100 gm of heroin, a .32 bore countrymade weapon and a motorcycle from the suspect.
Crime branch in-charge inspector Beant Juneja in a statement stated that under the special campaign launched by the police against drugs, a police team was present at Gopal Nagar Chowk, Tibba Road, here, in connection with checking suspicious persons and vehicles.
ASI Jeevan Singh had received a tip-off that Rohit Kumar, a resident of Ravi Colony, Khwajke Meharban village, had been indulging in the business of selling heroin and carrying illegal weapons with him.
As per information, the man was standing near a gaushala on Tibba Road to deliver heroin to one of his customers. He was riding a Hero Splendor Plus motorcycle, which was not having a registration number plate.
Inspector Juneja said the police conducted a raid and nabbed the smuggler with heroin, illegal weapon and three live rounds. After registering a case against the man under the NDPS Act, a two-day police remand was obtained from court and in further investigation, the entire drug supply chain would be busted and big suppliers involved in it would also be arrested.
