Man strangulates 13-year-old daughter to death

A man strangulated his daughter to death at Bachitar Nagar. He allegedly committed the crime suspecting that his daughter was having affair with a boy.

Station House Officer (SHO) Sadar police station Inspector Avneet Kaur said accused Naginder Kumar, a migrant, had been suspecting that his 13-year-old daughter was having affair. Angry over the issue, yesterday night, he beat up the girl and then strangulated her to death.

The SHO said after receiving complaint, the police immediately arrested the accused. A murder case would be registered against the accused, the SHO said.

When asked if the accused committed murder under the influence of liquor or any other drug, the SHO said he was reportedly not under the influence of any intoxicant.
