Man succumbs to injury after scuffle at Haibowal

The Haibowal Police has registered a case under Section 103, 3(5) of the BNS against two persons Sonu Gupta and Sushil Gupta, both residents of Mohalla Kehar Singh, Haibowal.

According to the police, the complainant Jaspal Singh said that his father had an argument with Kamlesh, wife of Nanu Gupta and her daughter-in-law Madhu Gupta over construction of a small entrance outside the gate on January 14. The complainant went out and made them understand in a peaceful manner and the matter got calmed down.

But after some time the neighbours, accompanied by some of their relatives and 5-7 unknown persons, came to the house of Jaspal Singh and started pelting them with stones. During the altercation, Sonu allegedly threw a brick at Jaspal Singh and another at his father. The latter took the hit on his head and fell on the floor.

The attackers fled the scene after threatening the family with dire consequences. Jaspal’s father was immediately taken to the Civil Hospital, where he succumbed to injuries. The police are investigating the matter and no arrest has been made so far.

The Meharban police have registered a case under Section 103 of the BNS against some unknown person for the murder of a factory worker.

Gian Singh, father of the deceased Sukhdev Singh, said that his son went to work on January 13 but did not come back home in the evening. The family searched for him, but could not trace him. The next day the victim’s father got information that his missing son had been brutally murdered and the body was found in a vacant plot near a liquor vend in Mohalla Prem Colony.
