DEO (Secondary) Dimple Madan said she was getting many calls over the matter and sent her teams to get facts verified. “There were a few schools, where programmes were held. As dates of the events were announced much earlier, we allowed them to conduct but others, who called staff or students, despite the closure orders, will be sent notices to explain reasons for opening the schools,” Madan said.

DEO (Elementary) Ravinder Kaur got intimation about private schools being opened, which included Guru Gobind Singh School, Daad, Geetanjali Convent School, Daad, GRD Academy, Shaligram School. The teams were sent to the schools and the institutions were closed. “Any negligence will be dealt with strictly. And the schools will have to explain reasons for opening the institutes,” she said.
