In March, she had eloped from Bihar and married the man. The girl reportedly belonged to another caste, due to which the boy’s family had objected to their marriage.

After taking the woman to Ludhiana, her husband used to beat her under the influence of alcohol. Frustrated by her husband’s assaults, she took the extreme step.
