ATP Khokhar said illegal portions of buildings, including houselines etc were demolished during the drive on Monday. A number of illegal buildings were demolished at the initial stage as the owners failed to get the building plans approved from the civic body,

he added.

Meanwhile, the building branch officials urged the public to get building plans approved from the civic body before commencing construction works, or face strict action against illegal constructions.
