Cracking the whip on illegal constructions in the city, several teams of the Municipal Corporation (MC) razed 10 illegal commercial constructions and an illegal colony in the areas falling under Zone C and D of the MC on Tuesday. The civic body team also razed an illegal under-construction colony in Guru Gobind Singh Nagar. Additionally, two residential buildings were sealed in the area as the owners had failed to get the building plans for these approved from the civic body. Similarly, the building branch team of MC Zone D demolished three illegal under-construction shops in the Sunet area and an illegal portion of a residential building (houseline area) in Raghunath Enclave on the Barewal road. The civic body officials stated that action against illegal constructions had been taken on the directions of MC Commissioner Aaditya Dachalwal, and the drive against illegal constructions would continue in the coming days.

Civic body officials urged residents to start construction works only after getting building plans approved from the civic body; otherwise, strict action would be taken against them.
