Ahead of Diwali, the Municipal Corporation (MC) of Ludhiana has released the salary of its employees for October in advance on Wednesday.

Civic body officials stated that usually salaries are released after the completion of the month, but due to Diwali celebrations, the state government had decided to release the salaries of its employees on October 30.

Keeping this in mind, MC Commissioner Aaditya Dachalwal had issued strict instructions to the staff concerned that the monthly salary of the civic body employees – totalling around Rs 35 crore – be credited into the accounts of the employees on October 30.

Members of the MC employees union, the Municipal Employees Sangharsh Committee, led by Chairman Ashwani Sahota lauded the state government and MC Commissioner Aaditya Dachalwal for taking crediting salaries ahead of Diwali.
