MC suspends sweeper over open dumping of garbage

With Municipal Corporation (MC) Commissioner Aaditya Dachalwal adopting a strict approach to curb open dumping of garbage and ensure cleanliness across the city, a sweeper, Sukhwinder Singh, has been suspended for allowing open dumping in his area and dereliction of duty.

Officials stated that Sukhwinder Singh was posted on 100-Feet Road, falling under Zone B of the MC. Despite the installation of static compactors, garbage continued to be dumped openly in the area and Sukhwinder failed to prevent it. Earlier, MC Commissioner Dachalwal had issued strict instructions to the Health Branch officials. Staff members were directed to ensure cleanliness in their respective areas.
