A gang of robbers attacked a migrant labourer, Aman, at Dholewal Chowk here on Wednesday night. The victim with his friends reached the Civil Hospital and after getting first aid, he left the place without filing any police complaint.
Now, the police are searching for the victim who left the hospital without informing the police.
As per the victim, he works at a factory in the grain market. On Wednesday night, he, along with other workers, was returning home when two robbers cornered him and asked to deliver cash and valuables.
In no time, five more accomplices of the miscreants came and attacked him.
“The suspects forcibly search my pockets to loot cash and mobile phone. As I opposed their act, they started thrashing me and I suffered an injury on my back. After we raised the alarm, the suspects fled the scene,” the complainant told mediapersons on Wednesday night.
As per doctors, the victim had suffered an injury near his spinal cord. After getting first-aid, Aman and his friends left the place.
The SHO, Police Division 6, SI Jaspal Singh, said one of the persons, who was accompanying the victim, had spread a rumour that the robbers had also shot at Aman but at the Civil Hospital, the victim did not mention about any bullet injury. Even doctors also confirmed that the victim had not received any bullet injury.
“The victim only mentioned his incomplete address at the Civil Hospital and we have been searching for him in Mundian Kalan but in vain. A case will be registered after tracing the man,” the SHO added.
