Milk trader attacked, robbed of gold chain

Assistant also suffered injury, mobile looted from bizman’s friend

Around 12 miscreants surrounded a Maruti Swift car on the Ferozepur road on Tuesday night and attacked the milk trader and his assistant sitting in the vehicle with sharp weapons. His friend was also accompanying them. The robbers looted a gold chain of the trader and a mobile of his friend.

The injured, who were admitted to the Civil Hospital, were identified as Pritpal Singh (42), a resident of Sidhwan Bet, and Bunty (24) of Nihal Singh Wala village.

Pritpal Singh said he was a milk businessman and was sitting in his Swift car with his friend Sukhwinder Singh and assistant Bunty on the Ferozepur road in front of the Verka milk plant on Tuesday night when around 12 persons vandalised his car. When he tried to oppose them, the miscreants attacked him with sharp weapons and injured his assistant Bunty.

The victim said the attackers took away his gold

chain and his friend Sukhwinder’s mobile phone before leaving the scene.

The complainant said the main suspect was a resident of Dakha village and he had been demanding money from him for the past sometime. As he had refused to give money to the person, the attacker kept a grudge against him and attacked him and his companions.

The injured were rushed to the Civil Hospital. Pritpal got stitches on his head. The victims had lodged a complaint in the matter, following which the police have launched a probe.
