A 13-year-old girl, Nikita, who was studying in Class VI, died after reportedly being bitten by a snake on her back while sleeping in her home near Lalheri Road in GTB Nagar, Khanna.

Her condition worsened and she died during treatment.

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.
