Thieves broke into a shop, Sham Telecom, located on the gaushala road at Kashmir Nagar Chowk and decamped with more than 100 LCD/LED TVs, Rs 2 lakh in cash and some other valuables.
As per the owner of the showroom, Sham Lal, the incident is believed to have occurred late on Wednesday night. He got information about the theft around 4 am on Thursday by one of his acquaintances after noticing shop’s broken shutter. When he reached the shop, he found all goods scattered and expensive electronic items missing.
The owner said it seems that the thieves were well-prepared. They tilted CCTV cameras inside the shop to prevent a clear recording of the crime due to which clear footage of the thieves could not be captured. He informed the police, following which they reached the scene.
“My showroom had over 100 LCD and LED TVs and around Rs 2 lakh cash was also lying in the cash box. I seems that the thieves were aware about the stock lying inside my showroom. They must have brought some big vehicle to load the same. The value of the stolen goods could be around Rs 20 lakh. I hope the police would crack the case and recover the valuables,” the shop owner said.
Meanwhile, the police said the victim was currently making a list of the stolen goods and reviewing CCTV footage to identify the culprits. CCTV cameras of the market were also being checked to get any clue about the suspects.
