Ludhiana East MLA Daljit Singh Bhola Grewal and Municipal Corporation (MC) Commissioner Aaditya Dachalwal inspected various areas in the Ludhiana East constituency.

Grewal and the MC chief inspected Puneet Nagar, Bharpur Nagar among other areas on Tajpur road and issued necessary directions to officials to check waterlogging. They also inspected the Jamalpur sewer treatment plant (STP). Zonal Commissioner Neeraj Jain, Chief Engineer Ravinder Garg and SE Praveen Singla were among other officials present.

Grewal said for the past several days, incessant rainfall wreaked havoc on different states of the country. As a result, many areas in the state had suffered heavy losses due to flooding.

He said the administration was also making all necessary arrangements to ensure the safety of affected residents and to provide every possible form of assistance.

They said there were a number of low-lying areas in the Ludhiana East constituency and necessary directions had been issued to officials concerned to check waterlogging.

Grewal said the residents would receive full support and relief from the government for the damages caused by rains to their properties/houses.

He said recently in Ward 17 a child died in a roof collapse. Expressing condolences to the grieving family, he announced that the victim’s family would soon receive full assistance from the government.
