To lay emphasis on sustainable development and to ensure a clean environment, Ludhiana MLAs launched cleanliness drives at various places on Friday.
The week-long initiative is part of an extensive cleanliness drive, launched across the city.
MLA Rajinder Pal Kaur Chhina undertook the drive from Dholewal to Sherpur Chowk, Kulwant Sidhu from Daaba Road, Ashok Prashar from Samrala Chowk, Madan Lal Baga from Jalandhar Bypass Chownk to Salem Tabri, including all parks till Chand Cinema, and Daljeet Grewal Bhola started the drive from Tajpur Road.
Wielding brooms themselves, the MLAs led the cleanliness drive and also took feedback from the sweepers. They urged people to support the civic body in keeping the city clean. They said cleanliness drives would also be taken up in green belts/parks across the constituency.
