Many areas like Dhokka Mohalla, Peeru Banda Mohalla, Shivpuri and those around Tajpur Road experienced the problem of sewer back flow. To ensure safety and reduce the reaction time, a 24/7 flood control room was made operational at the Daresi sub-zone office of the civic body. In case waterlogging is witnessed in their area, the residents can call at 0161-2749120 and civic body teams will reach the spot to resolve the problem at the earliest.

While city MLAs, alongwith the councillors, remained active in their respective constituencies, MC Commissioner Dachalwal inspected several areas of the city, especially those situated in the vicinity of the Buddha Dariya and issued necessary directions to drain out rainwater. Directions have been issued to ensure proper functioning of pumping stations/disposal points.
