Prior to Arora’s speech, MLA Kulwant Singh Sidhu addressed the gathering and urged residents to support Arora in the upcoming by-elections. Arora said, “You have to fight this election for me because I’m not a politician—I don’t know how to contest elections.” He recalled that he never envisioned entering electoral politics but accepted the challenge after the demise of MLA Gurpreet Singh Gogi. He highlighted the developmental work he had carried out as a Rajya Sabha MP in the area, earning applause from the audience. Municipal Councillor Tanvir Singh Dhaliwal said Arora was the most active MP he had seen in his political career.
