Muslims, minority panel chairman discuss issues faced by community

Minority Commission chairman Abdul Bari Salman on Saturday visited Jama Masjid here and met Shahi Imam Maulana Mohammad Usman Ludhianvi. Many dignitaries were present on the occasion. The chairman interacted with members of the Muslim community and discussed the issues being faced by people of the community.

Written charter of demands was given to the chairman on the occasion. The Shahi Imam said a community centre should be made for the Muslims in the city, adding that the government should provide land and funds for the same.

The chairman said government was making all efforts so that Muslims did not face any issue. He said teachers would be provided in Madrassas to provide education to the Muslim children. He assured the Muslims that the issues would be resolved soon. He said the demands would be met after having a detailed discussion with CM Bhagwant Mann.
