Nankana Sahib Public School, Rampur Channa village, Amargarh, recorded an emphatic 3-0 win over Ghawaddi School (3-0) to secure a berth in the semifinals in the junior section of the ongoing 15th Olympian Prithipal Singh Hockey Tournament which is being organised at the Astroturf ground by Mata Sahib Kaur Sports and Charitable Trust at Jarkhar village, near here.

For his fine performance in bringing about this victory, Karanpreet Singh of Rampur Channa was declared the player the match.

In another match of the junior section, Eknoor Academy, Tehang, overpowered Hoshiarpur XI 1-0. Navpreet Singh from the winning side was named the player of the match.

In the senior section, defending champions Dr Kuldip Singh Club of Moga proved too good for Young Club, Utala, whom they defeated 10-5. International-level player Gurmukh Singh was adjudged the player of the match in the competition.

Gill Club, Ghawaddi, fought it tooth and nail to outplay Amargarh Hockey Centre 7-6 with Arjan Pandit being awarded the player of the match prize.

Former national hockey player and prominent industrialist from Kolkata, Jagjit Singh Dakha, and international weightlifter Hardeep Singh Saini were the guests of honour.
