Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University commemorated Rashtriya Ekta Diwas to pay respect to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s legacy in unifying India and promoting unity in diversity.

NSS volunteers of the university took a pledge and participated in a quiz and poster-making activity in their respective colleges at Ludhiana, Amritsar and Bathinda.

Dr Nidhi Sharma, Assistant Director of Publications and NSS Programme Coordinator, said a poster-making competition was conducted at the college of animal biotechnology and volunteers held posters in their hands as they took out a 2-km march from the campus to the main gate of the university at Ferozepur Road.

Dr Narender Kumar, Dr Vishal Sharma and Dr S S Hassan, NSS programme officers of different colleges, accompanied the volunteers during the march and pledge-taking ceremony. Dr Sarvpreet Singh Ghuman, Director, Students’ Welfare, commended the NSS volunteers to commemorate National Integration Day to honour the Iron Man of India, Sardar Patel. He added that the day was celebrated at the College of Veterinary Science, Rampura Phul, and Khalsa College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Amritsar, as well.
