Odyssey of Learning — a vibrant tapestry of science, literature, art

The Odyssey of Learning unfolded at the Lakeview Lawns of GRD Academy, Ludhiana, for two days, From Saturday to Sunday, immersing the landscape in curiosity, creativity and lived experience. Students, educators, parents and visitors journeyed through a vibrant tapestry of science, literature, art, cosmic wonder and collective memory.

The event was attended by managing director Ashmit Kaur Oberoi, singer Beer Singh, Punjab Arts Council Chairperson Swaranjit Savi, Punjab Language Department Director Jaswant Zafar and Urdu poet Aziz Parihar. Principals from across Ludhiana joined their students, adding to the vibrancy.

Later, lawns were transformed into a stage for ‘Punjab floods 2025’, Guru Ram Dass Academy’s poignant tribute. Ten tableaux displayed with honesty and power — homes submerged, tractors as lifeboats, langars blooming amid calamity, youth shielding elders and communities rising above divides. Bilingual narrations in Punjabi and English carried grief and universality while the final tableau, Never Again, demanded justice and accountability, leaving the audience moved.

From solemn remembrance, the journey shifted to wonder as science and maths live experiments brought concepts alive through bubbling reactions and creative demonstrations. Literature soared in the enchanting ‘literary maze’, where cubes celebrated legends and imagination. The ‘art gallery’ showcased student talent in colour and emotion while the ‘planetarium dome’ carried visitors into galaxies and starry splendour.

Aspirations found direction at the ‘career fair,’ with 30 universities counselling students. Beneath a mammoth ficus tree, reading became meditative, accompanied by rustling leaves and poets mingling with visitors. Later, Book Mania swept the lawns—readers filled arms with titles, authors signed autographs, and families delighted in choosing books.

Every corner became a selfie point—sunlit paths, lakeside vistas, art installations and the ficus silhouette. The Snacks and Beverage Corner offered pause and reflection.

In its entirety, The Odyssey of Learning stood as a radiant affirmation of education’s power to breathe, evolve and enchant. It touched hearts, awakened curiosity and illuminated possibilities. As lights dimmed, one promise lingered: Learning, woven with imagination and empathy, is a journey without end.
