City’s promising swimmer Ojas Sund delivered an outstanding performance at the 69th National School Swimming Championship, held at Dr Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Swimming Stadium in Delhi, winning two medals in the U-17 category.
He bagged a silver medal in 50m backstroke — the only swimmer from Ludhiana to win a medal in the event and a bronze in 50m freestyle.
This year, Punjab secured only two medals, both of which were won by Ojas Sund, making his achievement even more significant for the state.
He credits his success to the constant support and guidance of his parents, especially his father Madhav, who himself is a former national-level swimmer. Ojas says: “My parents are the biggest support behind all my achievements.”
His uncle is also a former national swimmer and Ojas is now proudly carrying forward the family’s swimming legacy with his remarkable performances.
His achievement has brought immense pride to the city and the state.
