PAU alumnus interacts with faculty, students

Dr Ramesh Rudra, a renowned scientist from the School of Engineering, College of Engineering and Physical Sciences, University of Guelph, Canada, and an alumnus of the College of Agricultural Engineering and Technology, Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), visited the Department of Soil and Water Engineering of the PAU for an interaction with the faculty and students. He was accompanied by Dr JK Chawla, a former faculty member of the department. The event was attended by faculty members and postgraduate students and was organised by the Alumni Association of the college.

While discussing the recent advances in the sector’s research, Dr Rudra focused on agricultural water management, water budgeting, non-point source pollution, and water quantity and quality. He explored the processes of soil erosion, infiltration, irrigation, and drainage; and also talked about the importance of conservation of natural resources, watershed hydrology, management, and modelling.
