Kamalpreet Singh, a former MSc Horticulture (Vegetable Science) student from Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), was recently honoured with the prestigious Shri Jay Lal Singh Solanki Memorial Award for All India Best MSc Thesis by the Association of Plant Science Researchers (APSR), Dehradun.
The award was presented at the National Conference on Agriculture, Applied and Life Sciences: Plant, Human, and the Earth; Interconnectedness and Sustainability held at Kumaun University, Nainital, recently. Singh completed his MSc in February under Dr Naveen Garg, Senior Olericulturist at PAU’s Regional Research Station, Bathinda.
His award-winning research focused on “Line × Tester Analysis in Watermelon, Involving Round and Elliptical Fruited Genotypes”, providind insights into watermelon breeding.
