Dr Ritu Dogra, professor, Department of Renewable Energy, and Dr Baldev Dogra Professor, Department of Farm Machinery and Power Engineering, PAU, are the inventors under this patent.

The invention provides a novel conveyer-type mechanical feeding system for axial flow thresher. The feeding system has been made by using a conveyer and pressing rollers for axial flow threshers.

The conveyer-type mechanical feeding system has enhanced efficiency and it can be attached to the existing axial flow threshers to enhance their threshing capability, and hence, buying a new thresher with larger capacity can be avoided.

The feeding system reduces the time gap between batches of crop being fed to the system and hence gives a higher throughput.

“Research at PAU is aimed at providing better solutions to agricultural operations at the field level. The PAU scientists are working relentlessly to benefit farmers and other related stakeholders,” said Dr Satbir Gosal, vice-chancellor.
