Ludhiana, July 4
Aiming to hone technical skills of the young farmers in agriculture-oriented enterprises as well as resource conservation, the Directorate of Extension Education, Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), has planned to hold a three-month training course on ‘Integrated Crop Production’ from August 1 to October 30.
The university has invited applications from matriculate youth in the age group of 20 to 40. Talking about the course, Dr Rupinder Kaur, Associate Director (Skill Development), said it would equip the young farmers with the ‘complete agriculture package’, enhancing their livelihood security through agricultural, social and economic sustainability.
Interested candidates can get the application forms from Krishi Vigyan Kendras of their respective district or Skill Development Centre, PAU, or apply online by going to the agri-varsity website www.pau.edu, she said.
The last date for applications is July 25 and the interview will be held on July 30 at Skill Development Centre at 10.00 am, she added. Candidates have been asked to bring original and photocopies of their matriculation and birth certificates, and the Aadhaar card. The selected candidates will have to deposit Rs 1,000 as security, which will be refunded to only those who complete the course. The course fee is Rs 1,000 while lodging charges are Rs 300 per month, she said, adding that certificates will be awarded to candidates on the successful completion of the course.
