Sudeshna Thakur, working in the Department of Entomology, Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), visited the Oregon State University in the USA from July 3 to September 2 as a guest scholar (postdoctoral), the PAU said here on Wednesday.
Her postdoctoral programme was fully funded by Dr Man-yeon Choi, Research Entomologist. She worked in the areas of insect molecular physiology to identify biological targets and their functional expression. She was offered the best research facilities and gained expertise in cutting edge technologies.
Dr Thakur, after completing her PhD programme from PAU, got an independent research project under the BioCARE scheme sponsored by the Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science and Technology, New Delhi under the mentorship of Dr Vikas Jindal. Dr Jindal said her experience during her visit would be very useful in her current research project at PAU.
