Students of the Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) have clinched 11 prizes during the Punjab State Inter-University Youth Festival 2023-24, organised by the Directorate of Youth Services, Government of Punjab at the campus of Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar.

The Vice-Chancellor of PAU, Dr Satbir Singh Gosal, congratulated the PAU students, DDMC presidents and DSW officials for winning the medals and motivated the students to work hard for the forthcoming AIU North Zone Inter-University Youth Festival.

Dr Nirmal Jaura, Director Students’ Welfare (DSW), PAU, said that the discipline and dedication shown by the students was appreciable.

Dr Rupinder Kaur, Associate Director Culture, said that a total of 23 government and private universities from the state participated in this four-day mega youth festival. More than 120 students from PAU participated in this festival, she informed.

Satvir Singh, Registering Officer, divulged that PAU students participated in a total 45 events pertaining to dance, music, theatre, literary, fine arts and heritage categories. The PAU students won gold medals in phulkari kadna, chikku bnaunah, pihri bunnah and rangoli, while silver medals were bagged in traditional women’s songs, pakhi bunnah, khiddo bnaunah and kali gayan, he said. Besides, bronze medals were clinched in vaar gayan, nalaa bunah and debate events.
