To strengthen the officiating standards and promote volleyball across the state, the Punjab Volleyball Association (PVA) under the auspices of the Volleyball Federation of India organised a clinic for referees.
A total 58 aspiring candidates, including 13 women officials, attended the two-day session held at the Punjab Agricultural University (theory and written examinations) and SCD Government College (practical assesment). Rameshwar Chauhan, an international referee, appointed by the volleyball federation, guided the participants to enhance their knowledge and updated them on modern rules, techniques and other game-related information.
Gurjit Singh Aujla, MP from Amritsar and president, PVA, spoke to the candidates via video conference and wished that they would play their role efficiently for the growth of the game.
