Ludhiana Police arrest murder suspect within 12 hours, one at large

Within 12 hours of murder of a 30-year-old man, Abhishek, the Police Division 1 claims to have arrested Amit, alias Kalu, a resident of street number 1, Naali Mohalla, for committing the crime.

According to the police, the nabbed suspect is on police remand and his interrogation is on. The other person, with whom Amit killed their friend Abhishek, is on the radar of the police and he is also expected to be arrested soon.

Two more cases are already registered against Amit with Police Division 4 under Sections 379 B, 34, 411 and 34 of the IPC.

Abhishek was killed by his two friends on Tuesday on Deepak Cinema Road. Abhishek was also a resident of Naali Mohalla. He and his three friends, including Amit, were consuming liquor, when they started arguments with each other over some issue.

Afterwards, Abhishek was hacked to death by his two friends. After attacking with a knife, the suspects took Abhishek to his home and lied to his family that some unidentified person had attacked him. On the way to the hospital, Abhishek succumbed to his injuries.

It was only after checking the CCTV footage, the police got to know that the victim was attacked by his two friends and no other person was involved in the crime.

The police acted swiftly and was able to arrest the main suspect, Amit, while the other person is still absconding.
