Office-bearers and activists from the Truck Operators Union, Samay Sewa Society, Rotary Club, Social Welfare Organisation, Samaj Sewa Society and Lions Club came forward to support the Malerkotla police’s special campaign against environmental degradation and drug abuse, which was led by SSP Simrat Kaur. The activists have agreed to serve as brand ambassadors for the campaign by organising workshops, seminars and plantation drives.

Appreciating the gesture made by residents towards the coordinated movement launched by the police earlier, Ahmedgarh DSP Amritpal Singh Bhatti said that office-bearers of various organisations had announced their willingness to work together to combat the drug abuse epidemic that had destroyed many families in the state.

“We are glad that leaders and office-bearers of various organisations recognised that the environment and youth could not be saved from degradation and the menace of drug addiction, respectively, without raising public awareness about the causes and consequences of these threats,” Bhatti said.
